• You’ll be seeing Miley Cyrus on two Hearst titles this month. ELLE just unveiled their cover, featuring the Marc Jacobs-clad “Wrecking Ball” singer, and Miley’s also supposed to appear on Seventeen as well–although Ms. Cyrus might not be too pleased about it. WWD reports that the two Hearst titles were duking it out for a chance to get Cyrus on their respective covers, but Miley’s people turned down the Seventeen offer in favor of ELLE. That, apparently, isn’t stopping Seventeen from having their cake and eating it too. The mag is set to roll out their Miley issue with or without the go-ahead. Apparently, they used stock imagery and included a “write-around” for the cover story. But why go through all the trouble? Because Miley’s a top seller for mags, especially for Seventeen. “Seventeen readers love Miley Cyrus, and we cover her every chance we get,” a Seventeen spokesperson told WWD. “She ranked high on the March issue’s Girl Power List. Our readers asked for more, so we responded as quickly as possible. Miley’s currently on tour promoting ‘Bangerz,’ so what better time than now to celebrate her and give our readers what they want.” Indeed. We’ll be perched waiting to see if there is any backlash from Miley’s people for the Seventeen issue. (WWD)
