Balmain is a globally-renowned fashion house, coveted by the world’s “It” girls and jetsetters. For the brand’s Resort 2015 collection, Olivier Rousteing planted his inspiration in Los Angeles. He was influenced by the City of Angels’s jovial mood, infusing it with Balmain’s flair for all things international and a splash of the 70′s.

The color palette ranged from punchy saffron to the classic combination of black and white. Glossy metal cuffs and collars were clean, yet poignant complements.

70′s-inspired suiting came in the form of contrast trim tuxedo dresses, long-line zip-front blazers, high-waist flare trousers, and boxy contrast lapel vests.

The black and white palette was given a modern spin with leather trim, cascading ruffle details on thigh-grazing mini skirts, and fringed stripes.

Celebrities are surely already ogling over the assortment’s all-white getups: a red carpet trend that has grown increasingly more popular over the past year. Diane Kruger would look stunning in the collection’s halter flare leg jumpsuit, while a long-sleeve cape front dress with a plunging neckline might already be hanging in Rihanna’s closet.

I was most intrigued by the looks that utilized bold color. Rousteing designs some of the most eye-catching pieces around and with hues like saffron, coral, and turquoise, there was absolutely no way to resist some of the ensembles at hand.
