Aside from being nominated a whopping eight times at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards, Beyonce will take home MTV’s top honor, the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. If that isn’t exciting enough, Queen Bey will hit the stage for what we’re sure will be an epic performance! (And we’re not talking that Skype in from the “On The Run” tour cellphone footage she pulled at the BET Awards). We know, we know…catch your breath.
We’re sure the unprecedented release of her fifth solo album “Beyonce,” helped secure her place in moonman history! The Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, also called the Lifetime Achievement Award, is given to musicians who have made a profound profound imprint in the industry through music, video and film.
Past Vanguard Award winners include: Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey and Michael Jackson for whom the award was renamed in 1991.
