Swarovski Collective Prize.

Swarovski is the latest company to cut themselves a piece of the fashion prize pie. With an ongoing partnership with the CFDA that sees the company underwriting the prizes for emerging designers, the brand has decided to form their own prize called the Swarovski Collective Prize for Innovation that will award one of it’s Swarovski Collective members 25,00 euros(about $33,000). This year’s cohort includes Prabal Gurung, Rodarte, Creatures of the Wind, Wes Gordon, Nonoo, Peter Pilotto, Mary Katrantzou and Damir Doma among the names. Vanessa Friedman, she of the Beyonce slander, says that the competition seems ready-made for the screen. What do you think? (New York Times)
