Burberry Prorsum Pre-Fall 2015.

For years now, Christopher Bailey has steeped the iconic Burberry Prorsum aesthetic in contrasts — its storied heritage juxtaposed alongside modern silhouettes, feminine shapes against masculine detailing, and now wispy fabrics and forms beside heavy, cozy coats. For Pre-Fall 2015, the iconic brand swaddled fragile lace frocks in furry shearlings.

Burberry has the wherewithal to produce as many looks as they see fit, but the offerings were more concise this time around, as well as more disciplined and dare we say it, womanly. Outerwear was easily the star here with an embroidered cognac-hued suede trench, a two-tone knee-length fur with oversized buttons and elbow sleeves, patterned wool coats, and cropped printed designs lined in shearling.

The coats did all the talking with the pieces completing the looks providing the perfect pared-down complements. Pleated cropped trousers, a clover print dress with long sleeves, solid panels, and a drop waist, an easy graphic patterned t-shirt, and a sheer striped frock were just some of the designs on display.

The accessories were nothing to be ignored including the classic printed scarves, open-toe booties, bowling bags of all sizes and skins, and suede riding boots inching just over the knee — all functional and sure to be retail hits once the collection hits stores.
