#TBT: The Style Evolution of Zoe Saldana

With Mother’s Day around the corner,ie dedicate this week’s throwback to this actress and mother of three who has been dominating the silver screen for over fifteen years.  From a highly trained and merciless assassin in Colombiana to a savvy intergalactic explorer in the Star Trek franchise, Zoe Saldana has an extensive list of movie roles under her belt. 
Just as vast is her wardrobe, which grew just as progressively as her career.
When Saldana first stepped onto the Hollywood scene, it was all about knee length dresses that offered some sort of pizazz.  Whether sequined, ruffled or metallic, it’s always been about letting the garment speak for itself.
  
During her pregnancy with twin boys, Bowie and Cy, now three, she glowed as she stepped out for red carpet appearances.  She embraced pastels like pink and vibrant colors like red while wearing dresses that draped elegantly over her baby bump.
   
When it comes to press junkets, our eyes are always peeled to see what stylist, Petra Flannery, will have up her sleeve for Saldana next.  She’s a woman of versatility, and it shows in her style.  She loves experimenting with different silhouettes, textures, and patterns; designers like Gucci, Prabal Gurung, and Balmain all afford her the opportunity.
 
  
 As far as award shows are concerned, there’s no denying she won’t end up on everyone’s best dressed list.  Design houses like Givenchy and Dolce & Gabbana never regret selecting her to serve as muse because her lithe frame fits these couture pieces perfectly.

  But when she’s not all dolled up and beaming for red carpet photographers, her street style is just as impressive.  She’s really a jeans-and-top girl at heart, but she knows how to elevate what could be an ordinary look.  Accessorizing with sexy heels, a good tote, and a pair of sunnies is her steeze, and she does it so well, especially with those long stems of hers.
   If you’re wondering how she balances being a wife, a mother of three young boys – her youngest, Zen, just being born in February – and one of the most sought after actresses today, we’re right along there with you.  She admits how difficult managing it all can be, but she wouldn’t trade any of it for the world.  We imagine waking up to all those gorgeous faces everyday makes it easier.
