Beyoncé Looking to Buy Stake in Houston Rockets

Beyoncé
Queen Bey keeps on reppin’ H-town. Sources close to the singer say that Beyoncé is interested in buying an ownership stake in the Houston Rockets, according to Bloomberg.

Rockets’ owner Les Alexander, who purchased the team for $85 million in 1993, is looking to sell the franchise, which could yield more than the record $2 billion that Steve Balmer paid for the Los Angeles Clippers in 2014.
The Carters are no strangers to the NBA. After all, JAY-Z purchased a less than one percent stake in the Nets and was instrumental in their move from New Jersey to Brooklyn. He eventually sold his share of the NBA franchise in order to start Roc Nation Sports, which represents athletes.
If Queen Bey chooses to purchase a stake in her hometown team, she would be joining other fellow artist/owners in major sports, including Justin Timberlake (Memphis Grizzlies), Jennifer Lopez (Miami Dolphins), and Nelly (Charlotte Bobcats).
With her global appeal, ‘Yoncé could be an important factor in an ownership group. According to the report, this would be an added bonus for a franchise that already has a large fanbase around the world and specifically in China.
Although Beyoncé has roots in Houston, she is currently living in Los Angeles. The Carters are reportedly planning to move into a Bel-Air mansion this year, following the birth of their twins Rumi and Sir Carter.
