Happy birthday,
Meryl Streep!
The
legendary actress turns 66 today, and what better way to celebrate her
special day than by looking back at a few times when Streep was
basically the boss of everything. From singlehandedly smashing the
patriarchy to taking selfies with powerful politicians, Streep can do no
wrong in our eyes.
And although the
Ricki and the Flash
star rocks this title on a daily basis, here are five moments that
Streep particularly killed the game. Which unforgettable Meryl memory is
your favorite?

1. She Breaks Records: When it comes to the
Academy Awards, it's Meryl's world and we're just living in it. In the
last 37 years, Streep has earned 19 nominations (most recently for
Into the Woods at the 2015 Oscars) in the Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress categories—more than any other star in the show's history.
Though she's only won three, that's more than any of us can say we've won. So for that, we bow to her.

2. She Was Iconic as Miranda Priestly: You might think your boss is pretty horrific, but absolutely nothing compares to Streep's diabolical antics in the
Devil Wears Prada as
Runway
magazine's terrifying editor-in-chief, Miranda Priestly. Before
premiering in 2006, we all wanted to work for a high profile fashion
magazine in New York City. After seeing the flick, we were perfectly
content with our monotonous cubicle jobs.

3. She Takes Selfies With Hill: Our jealousy for
Queen Meryl has never been more real at this very moment. In all
honesty though, only Streep is boss enough to be BFFs with
Hillary Clinton
and partake in selfies with her, like this one she took at a dinner for
Kennedy Center Honorees in 2012. Now that Clinton has announced she's running for president, we can only hope Streep will grace us with more behind-the-scenes moments from this amazing friendship.
4. She's a Feminist: During this year's awards season, the lack of female representation within the film industry was a hot topic. So when
Patricia Arquette called for increased gender equality during her Oscars acceptance speech, Streep spoke for us all when she jumped up and praised the
Boyhood star for her poignant remarks.
"People
will say to me, 'You've played so many strong women' and I'll say,
'Have you ever said to a man, 'You've played so many strong men?' No!
Because the expectation is [men] are varied. Why can't we have that
expectation about women?" Streep famously said during a recent interview
with
More magazine.
Preach, Meryl.

5. The President Loves Her: Like the rest of us, President
Barack Obama is completely in love with Meryl.
"I love Meryl Streep," the commander in chief said when he presented
her with Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation's highest civilian
honor in 2014. "Her husband knows I love her.
Michelle [
Obama] knows I love her. There's nothing they can do about it," Obama continued.
Is
it too late for Meryl to submit her bid for the upcoming presidential
race? If so, we'll hold out until 2020. Anything for Meryl.
