From the moment we saw
Kendall Jenner's kissy face selfie on
Instagram we were curious about her lip color (hey, it's our job to track down these things).
Come to find out a day later that it was the E! star's very own custom
shade "Restless" for Estée Lauder—and the obsession became full-blown.
We just
had to get our
hands pouts on this poppy orange tint, which would most definitely be the hottest hue of the summer.
But just because something is popular doesn't mean you can pull it off. (See: Culottes.)
So we decided to do an office-wide testing of the model's signature
shade to see just how versatile it really is. The (filter-free) results?

"The tint may be described as 'orangey-red' but once applied I
quickly realized it is straight up neon orange. (No, really, you can't
tell from this photo but I promise it's hella bright.) Which—while
shocking at first—actually makes for a pretty pop of color that's

reads in person (and on camera). That aside, you better have bright
white teeth to wear this because it's going to dull whatever shade you

to hot pink, red or a light nude gloss, so I have never really ventured
into wearing orange lipstick. It was fun to try, and after wearing it, I
totally want it. Especially for a summer beach day or to wear with a

the color is so bright, you really need full coverage, and it can look

three clear glosses and maybe one taupe. But if I was going to go bold,
Kendall's "Restless" is a good way to do it. The color is a fun pop of
orange (not red, important note!) that goes on entirely matte. I wore it
with a plain black t-shirt, and I will say that it totally transformed
my look. I received a ton of compliments and I was just walking around
the office, so I would like to be able to dress this color up for a
night out. Moral of the story: It's a lipstick so good that it inspires

Kendall's ‘Restless' red-orange, the finish was a tad, well, too
matte—to the point where I had to swipe Vaseline over my lips to get the
