Looking wide-awake come Monday morning will forever be a very real struggle. The solution, you ask: white eyeliner.
White eyeliner tends to be a makeup bag anomaly, but if you have an unopened one in your stash, it's time to whip it out and put it to use. The reality of what a simple swipe of the color can do for your lifeless, Monday morning face is literally eye-opening.
Whether you line you bottom lash line like Adriana Lima, lighten up your cat-eye like Sarah Hyland or dot the inner corners of your eyes like Kat Graham, adding a quick touch of the stark color in strategic places is actually a face-brightening, work week game-changer.
Inner Corners: One of the easiest ways to apply white liner is to simply smudge it on the inner corners of your eyes. If you're a less-is-more kind of girl and want to keep your getting ready time down in the a.m., wear it alone. If you're usual office look includes a full-on eye like Kat's, a metallic white eyeliner like Marc Jacobs Twinkle Pop Eye Stick in Snow Iridescent Shimmer dabbed to the inside corners has the same widening-impact. The best part is that you don't have to smear it perfectly. Just apply a frosted formula in a v-shape to the upper and outer lash lines, right at the inner corners of your eyes.

Bottom Lash Line: Lining your entire
bottom lash line in a white color might seem counter-intuitive, but it
actually has a brightening effect especially when done in a shimmering,
sheer white shade. The point of this look is to be soft, since the cool
color is essentially taking the place of what would usually be a dark,
harsher line. To apply, simply use an eyeliner brush to paint a powder
formula like Urban Decay's Moondust Eye Shadow in Cosmic
all the way across the bottom lash line. To complete the look, use a
fluffy shadow brush to dust a bit of the same iridescent shade to the
top lid and pair with big, full lashes and a bold, colored lip.

Cat-Eye: Hey there kitten. If an intense,
black cat-eye feels too aggressive for everyday wear, team a
barely-there trace of black liner with a thick liquid formula in
ultra-white, like Courrèges Estée Lauder.
You may think that a thick stroke of the blank color will wash out your
lids, but by using it in the place of black it actually enhances the
whites of your eyes. The trick here is to stay away from shimmery
formulas, opting instead for a matte color that works better to define
the sharp shape of the cat-eye. To make the color pop, follow Sarah's
lead and trace a thin, black line to shape your eye or nix the black all
together for a softer effect.
