While fans anxiously awaited the debut of Kanye West's newest music video, it was Teyana Taylor who held everyone's focus until the very last moment.
After taking the stage once again at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards, the rapper and MTV staple ushered in his brand new visual for "Fade" off of his seventh studio album, The Life of Pablo. However, before the video could roll, West offered a lengthy explanation about the intention of his latest work.
"I am Kanye West, and that feels especially great to say this year. I came here to present my new video, but before I do that, I'mma talk," he began. "I'm standing in front of my idol, Puff Daddy. I'm standing in front of my wife, Kim Kardashian West. I'm standing in front of the future: Chance the Rapper, 2 Chainz, Jaden Smith. Bro, we are undeniably the influence, the thought leaders. I'm gonna play y'all a piece of my art, and I just hope y'all have a good time. Play that."

On cue, 25-year-old Teyana Taylor appeared on the Madison Square Garden screen in a gray sports bra and matching thong, offering up major Flashdance vibes as she maneuvered her muscular physique to the beat around an empty gym.
Following the modern routine, she appeared naked in a shower embracing her real-life fiancee, basketball pro Iman Shumpert. The two finished the video with their oiled up bodies against each other as they faced the camera, Teyana suddenly transformed with the face of a cat.
The captivating clip and unexpected finale left everyone watching dazed, confused and entirely intrigued. Just who was this woman that had single-handedly stopped the show? She's a singer, she's a mother and she's about to be a world-famous star. Here are a few more things you should know about music's new It Girl.
1. Her relationship with MTV began when she was Super Sweet 16.
Years before she was collaborating with Kanye, she made her television debut as a soon-to-be sixteen year old on the wildly entertaining MTV reality show, My Super Sweet 16, which chronicled teens planning their milestone birthday party.
2. She gave birth to her daughter in her own bathroom.
Out of the spotlight, Taylor is equally impressive. In December of last year, the mom-to-be suddenly gave birth to her first child, Iman Tayla Shumpert Jr., in her bathroom with help from her partner. "On Dec 16th at 6:42am in our bathroom Junie decided she wanted to take her first breath into this world. She came out as a wonderful surprise to everyone!" she announced on Instagram at the time.
"Not knowing I was in labor until I felt her head...it took two ten count pushes with my fiancé playing Dr and she entered this world into his bare hands! Eyes full of tears and barely able to speak to the emergency operator @imanshumpert tied a pair of red headphones around the umbilical cord and the ambulance made there grand entrance 5 min later. She opened her eyes right away, gazed into mine and never cried! He handed her to me wrapped in our bath towel and wiped her face for me to see what LOVE really is."

3. She's in A-list company.
This is certainly not her first project with the Grammy-winning rapper. Her vocals were featured on his 2010 hits "Dark Fantasy," "Christmas in Harlem" and "Hell of a Life" as well as the 2012 compilation album Cruel Summer's track, "To the World." She's also previously joined forces with other notable performers, including JadakissTrey Songz and Missy Elliott
4. She can hold her own.
In addition to releasing mixtapes, singles and a 2014 studio album of her own, Teyana has been signed to West's GOOD Music label and Def Jam since 2012.
