Fashion Scoop: Rihanna To Release Rogue Love Fragrance, Valentino To Show Couture In New York, Paul Andrew Wins CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund.
- Haven’t you heard? #BadGalBack.
And since Rihanna was #RIHunited with Instagram, the singer — although
to be quite honest her life hasn’t been about singing for quite a while —
announced her latest fragrance: Rogue Love. As a follow up to both
Rogue and Rogue Man, which are already in stores, the fragrance has no
launch date yet. While a February 14th drop would be pretty cute —
love, Valentine’s day, you know it was clever — we’ll have to wait and
see. (StyleBlazer)

- Michael Kors is always growing his business. The latest expansion?
Tech accessories. As his customer is always on the go, the designer has
cobbled together some phone charging cases, chargers, and earbuds made
to look like some things you already carry: lipstick tubes and cosmetic
cases. With an emphasis on fashion as well as function, the PowerCase
will charge an iPhone for a full battery life. Best part, you can expect
the tech to be out this month. (Fashion Times)
- Couture is about to go international. Come this December the house
of Valentino will take its couture show on the road, debuting a couture
collection in New York City, marking the third couture presentation for
the brand this year to celebrate it’s Fifth Avenue boutique. Then in
January the brand will debut their normally scheduled couture show as
well. This comes in addition to a pre-collection and a men’s wear show
both in January and a women’s ready to wear show in February. Next July
the brand will skip the Paris couture shows in total to show couture in
Rome to celebrate a store opening there. (NY Times)
- Just as many of us thought the latest round of fashion musical
chairs was ending, news has broken that Marco Zanini might be leaving
Schiaparelli. Having toiled away at the brand creating their
“pret-a-couture” wares since July, the designer has reportedly said that
the brand “is not exactly his fit.” No word yet on where he might go nor who may replace him. (Vogue UK)
- Though the buzz seemed considerably quieter than last year, the
CFDA/’Vogue’ Fashion Fund crowned their latest winner last night. Shoe
designer Paul Andrew took home top billing while Ryan Roche and Eva
Zuckerman took home runners-up awards. Other designers to compete
included teams from Wes Gordon, Tanya Taylor, Orley and Grey Ant amongst
others. Andrew will walk away with $300,000 as well as business
mentoring while the runners-up have $100,00 as well as mentoring in
store for them. (Fashionista)
