CALIA
Carrie Underwood looks amazing, but when does she not? So, what's her secret? Underwood's trainer Erin Oprea of Oprea Personal Fitness shares how Carrie got her post-baby body back, and she has tips for you, too.
The 32-year old multi-Grammy-winning country star and American Idol alum gave birth only three months ago. Underwood and her NHL husband Mike Fisher welcomed their first son, Isaiah Michael Fisher on Feb. 27. In a recent shoot for her fitness line, CALIA by Carrie Underwood sold at Dick's Sporting Goods, Carrie showed off her toned and svelte figure.
Underwood's trainer Erin Oprea tells E! News, "We do lots of lunges, squats, plyometrics, stairs, pull-ups along with weight training. The key to the success is keeping all of this at your level and not to do too much too soon. Listen to your body."
But what about the tummy? How can we get a toned stomach like Underwood's? Oprea shares, "Core exercises are great to help tone the body, but a slimmer midsection is truly made in the kitchen. Eating clean is the fastest way to get flatter."
Oprea shares it's important to eat lots "of whole grains early in the day, like oatmeal, will keep your energy level up. All new moms struggle with energy and eating clean by cutting out processed foods and drinking plenty of water can really help."
The trainer even shared some of her favorite moves. "A killer core exercise is the plank slide. Get into plank form on your hands with your feet on a towel (make sure you're on a slippery surface like hardwood). Slide your feet out wide like a jumping jack and back to center."
"Here's another one: elbow plank with hip dips," she advises. "Get into plank form on your elbow, engage your core and drop your hips down on one side. Then up and around to dip on the other side, going back and forth. Shoot for 30 seconds to a minute on both of these great workouts."
There's no cutting corners when it comes to achieving a healthy, slim figure! Oprea says, "Everybody has to work hard to get what they want. Carrie is no exception. She gets up and stays disciplined."
Way to go Carrie, you continue to inspire us!
