Fashion Scoop: Rihanna To Launch Accessories Line, and Sites To Ban Confederate Flag Merchandise
- Being a face of a high fashion brand like Dior isn’t enough for
Rihanna–she wants to also be a designer. Reports are surfacing that in
addition to her recently launched temporary tattoos, the singer is set
to drop an accessories collection. Apparently Rih Rih filed an
application for a new brand called $CHOOL KIlls searching for rights to
work under the category of leather and other clothing products. Sources
have confessed that she will be dropping a line of totes and purses
first and then going into full-fledged apparel later. Will you be
buying? (Grazia)
- Speaking of full, Fill Figured Fashion Week is going on this week
with about 2,000 women expected to attend. The event will host 25 brands
and 12 independent designers. Fruit of the Loom is the main sponsor of
the events. (Fortune)
- Lest you forget, Kendall Jenner is not just a model for Estee
Lauder–she’s also a collaborator. As such, the social media star has
just released a new shade of red lipstick that the brand characterizes
as “part poppy, part orange crush, all matte, all Kendall.” If you need that in your life, pony up $30 for your limited-edition bottle of Restless.
- In the wake of widespread calls for the state of South Carolina to
remove the Confederate flag from the State Grounds, a few major
retailers like eBay, Sears and Wal-Mart are banning the sale of
Confederate flag merchandise. eBay says that “This decision is
consistent with our long-standing policy that prohibits items that
promote or glorify hatred, violence and racial intolerance.” (CNN)
