Rick Ross, Mug Shot
Rick Ross' day got off to a rough start.
The rapper (real name: William Roberts) and his bodyguard Nadrian James were arrested Wednesday morning at Ross' home in Fayette County, E! News can confirm. Both men were charged with aggravated battery and kidnapping, and Ross was hit with an additional charge of aggravated assault, Marshals' Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force supervisor Jim Joyner confirmed to E! News.
Joyner confirmed that the 39-year-old rapper got into an altercation with someone on the property and allegedly pistol whipped him. Both Ross and James, 42, were arrested at the former's Fayetteville, Ga., home without incident. According to a press release from the Fayette County Sheriff's office, the matter is still under investigation and authorities are unable to comment further on it at this time.

CBS' Atlanta affiliate WGCL-TV reports that Ross and James will be held at the Fayette County Jail for an initial appearance and a bond hearing.
E! News reached out to Ross' rep for comment but did not receive an immediate response.
This is the second time this month Ross has had a brush with the law in the Atlanta area. On June 10, he was arrested for misdemeanor marijuana possession and jailed in Atlanta. He was arrested in 2008 and again in 2011 on pot-related charges as well.
