Next to the Met Gala, the CFDA Awards are one of the most high wattage, hotly anticipated events for the fashion set.
You may remember, Rihanna accepted her Fashion Icon Award last year in glittering crystals by Adam Selman (i’d reference the post, but Google made me take it down). At any rate, the style is usually on 10.
Take a look at this year’s attendees:
Of course Kanye and Kim Kardashian West made an appearance, with Kim in a dotted, sheer Proenza Schouler custom creation with furry shoulders. And what is that? Do I see a smile from Kanye? He must be over the moon about baby number two!
Janelle Monae loves capes! The songstress slipped on a custom creation between Tadashi and her stylist Maeve Reilly, Christian Louboutin pumps, and an Edie Parker clutch for the night. She’s been killing it lately!
Model Karlie Kloss flaunted her decolletage in a red polka dotted Diane von Fursteneberg dress.
Kelly Osbourne offset her purple locks with a silver and black look by red carpet favorite Christian Siriano. She looks good!
E! News Correspondent Alicia Quarles went for the gold in a Kim Mesches dress, Joyce Echols sandals, and a Cesare Paciotti clutch.
Katie Holmes picked up on the color of her eyes in an olive green Ralph Lauren satin number.
Gigi Hadid is a fashion killer. To wit: her gilded Michael Kors jumpsuit. Hot!
Cut outs and LBDS have been done and overdone on the red carpet, but somehow Emmy Rossum’s Dion Lee number looks fresh.
Chrissy Teigen rarely missteps, and this white ruffled gown was no exception. She looks beautiful!
If you don’t follow @TheFatJewish on Instagram, you are truly missing one of the joys of life. The page’s creator sipped on his ‘White Girl Rosé’ for a photo opp. Though this picture might not capture it, he is one of the most hilarious human beings on the planet! Follow him now, you won’t regret it.
Betsey Johnson hit a split in a striped jumpsuit. Homegirl’s still got it!
I love Tinashe’s music, and am happy she’s finally wearing something to get her noticed on the red carpet. Not sure I would’ve plucked this particular Public School Fall 2015 jumpsuit and supersize scarf for this particular event (a dress would’ve been more apropos), but this is a vast improvement upon previous appearances. Hot!
Vanessa Hudgens is a cutie, but something about her Sachin and Babi frock fell flat.
Nina Dobrev looked etherial in a floaty feathered dress by Lela Rose.
Diane von Furstenberg and Nadja Swarovski grabbed a pic together, with Nadja in pretty pink, and Diane in a black and white printed dress of her own design.
Victoria Beckham skewed chic in her own collection.
Tracy Reese went for cute and flirty in a lace accented Tracy Reese frock.
Not exactly sure what’s going on here with Pharrell Williams and Helen Lasichanh. Hmm…
Lastly, Taraji P. Henson gave Cookie fever in custom Vera Wang, Gianvito Rossi sandals, and Maxior and Astley Clark jewelry. Work!
That does it!
Stay tuned i we update this post throughout the evening.
