Fleamadonna Spring 2018
Seems a bit expected that Jei Kim would be inspired by Madonna—what with a brand name like Fleamadonna—but that’s exactly who she was inspired by for Spring. Aptly titled “The Breakfast Club” after the band the pop icon was a member of before going solo, the collection was equal parts punk, fun, and spirit.
A sweatshirt tucked into a high-waist pencil skirt felt totally accessible and modern, but blue eyeshadow made even the most pared-down look lively—with that impossible-to-miss 80’s flair.
Sequins injected sparkle into the collection on short-sleeve crop tops, mini skirts, boxy power blazers worn as dresses, and off-the-shoulder tops. Simple ankle-strap sandals in red and black ensured none of the shoes took away from the power of the looks.
Star print never really goes out of style and it was strewn across leg-baring playsuits, high-waist pencil skirts with sultry slits, asymmetric shoulder tops, and voluminous peplum numbers for both work and play.
There was definitely no shortage of skin—with crop tops, mini dresses, plunging necklines, and hot pants.
A touch of the boudoir was present with slip dresses, pajama-inspired separates, and bralettes galore.
And there were definitely a few dresses on display that made the case for red carpet dressing and celebrity appeal. A tri-tone, long-sleeve mini dress would look perfect on the Hadid sisters and Kerry Washington would sizzle in a slip-inspired dress with a thigh-high slit and exposed buttons.
Thoughts on the latest from Fleamadonna?
