Marcelo Burlon County of Milan Fall 2015.
Marcelo Burlon is many things: a fashion designer, stylist, DJ (as so many fashion types are these days), and all-around man about town. For his second womenswear collection for Fall 2015, he blended his penchant for streetwear with his Argentinian birthplace in the well-known region of Patagonia.
Printed turtlenecks, leggings, and ponchos were the perfect pieces for hiking and traveling in Patagonia — though one wouldn’t dare sweat in this gear. Wide-brimmed hats, high-top sneakers, and leather moto boots anchored the looks in functionality.
A biker vibe was injected with wearable leather moto pants in black and impossible to miss silver. A flashy metallic anorak layered over a matching puffer jacket will surely be retail hits, or perfect for street style snaps at the very least.
Volume had a moment and the pleated amalgam of a maxi skirt and wide-leg trousers were some of the most distinctive pieces at play. The proportions really made their mark when paired with torso-hugging bomber jackets.
The assortment penetrated the more polished and fashion-forward edge of the whole streetwear movement. The brand has become quite popular with rappers, thus we’ll see if womenswear lands as poignantly.
What do you think of Marcelo Burlon’s Fall 2015 womenswear collection?
