Roberto Cavalli Fall 2015.
Many designers looked to the East for Fall 2015, including Roberto Cavalli, who infused his signature feral prints with Ming dynasty florals. High waisted pants with gold buttons, curt jackets, and floor sweeping dresses were decorated with the overarching motif, electrified at times by sequins, fur, and ruffles seemingly from an erstwhile era.
The collection opened in typical Cavalli fashion, with animal prints on mini dress and trench coats, in 70’s era office ready silhouettes. Blouses with ruffled necks and cuffs were paired with pencil skirts and booties.
Similar silhouettes welcomed Asian inspired florals, cast in teals, yellows, and greens.
Checks brought a secretarial feel to the foray, but they were anything but boring. Fall 2015 has no shortage of glamour thanks to light catching sequins and fur.
While most pieces could easily be plucked for every day, the collection truly triumphed with evening wear. The gold studded black dresses and ombré plissé cut out gowns were certainly show stoppers.
What do you think?
