Fashion Scoop: Diversity Still Lacking on Fashion Month Runways, Beyonce Launches On Spring App, and Amazon To Get A Brick-And-Mortar Store.

Show Review- Ashish Spring 2015
  • Though brands like Ashish made models of color the spotlight of their shows this past September, overall, white models made up about 80-85 percent of the models on the runway.  New York cast the most diverse rosters, with 79.1 percent of casted models being white. Standout shows included the aforementioned Ashish as well as Tracy Reese, Zac Posen and Peter Som amongst others. Valentino, Paul & Joe, Victoria Beckham, Haider Ackermann and The Row only cast one model of color each. (The Fashion Spot)

  • We told you a few months ago about the launch of Spring, an easy to use shopping app with major fashion backing. Now, after on-boarding hundreds of really amazing brands — hey Public School, Marchesa, Zimmerman and Suno, we see you — the app now has its first celebrity shop with the one and only Yonce.  Sweatshirts, beanies and tees sport everything from lyrics to Yonce-ified scribbles.  Nothing looks incredibly new(we’ve seen most of it on her own webstore), instead just gentle tweaks on her existing products but stay tuned as she’ll undoubtedly drop some fresh designs there. • Want to get your hands on Alexander Wang x H&M collection before everyone else you know?  Listen up! For you New Yorkers, head to 589 Fifth Avenue on October 13th and spend more than $50 at the flagship store.  They’ll reward you with a token to use a vending machine where you’ll get a water bottle.  And while that’s adorable and everything, it’s a bit like Charlie and the Chocolate factory in that some of the bottles will have winning tickets in them that will allow you to shop the collection either at an October 16th launch party or the November 5th VIP event.
