Fashion Scoop: Pharrell To Star In Chanel Film, Kimora Lee Simmons Sets Up Scholarship Fund, Jeremy Scott Launches Second Adidas Fall Collection.
- It’s probably time to make a dedicated bullet point for Pharrell as
every day he’s got something going on. The latest: what’s possibly a
follow-up on that news about his link up with Cara Delevingne, the
multi-hyphenate artist is set to star alongside Delevingne in a film by
Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel. Maybe this is where they will debut
Delevingne’s track. Expect it to screen on December 2nd to debut
Chanel’s latest pre-collection. (WWD)

- Fashion designer Joseph Altuzarra is having an amazing year. After
being named as the CFDA Womenswear Designer of the Year, he went on to
bag a collaboration with Target. And though that landed him in hot water
with some plus-sized bloggers(although honestly most of that anger was
focused at Target) the designer has pressed on. His next high point
comes in his personal life: the designer was just married to his partner
Seth Weissman. Rumor says that details are being kept on the DL because
Vogue is considering a feature. As of now, we’re just wishing him and
his new husband the best. (The Daily)
- Kimora Lee Simmons is looking out for the future of fashion with her
newest venture. The model turned designer has set up a $1 million
scholarship fund in her name, $500,000 of which is earmarked for the
Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising and Rush Philanthropic
Arts Foundation. Also as a part of the project, there will be an
internship program that will see select students working with KLS
Collection, which is a high-end womenswear line Simmons had back in 2010
and is reviving for a launch in New York City this November. (Style)
- Vivienne Westwood just released an autobiography — the same one that
she admitted to being in a combative relationship in — and it’s quickly
becoming a hot topic. The latest: Westwood and her co-writer Ian Kelly
are being accused of plagiarizing. In accusations from author Paul
Gorman, passages from Westwood’s memoir and Gorman’s The Look: Adventures in Rock and Pop Fashion
look eerily similar, changing only a handful of words. Gorman asserts
that he respects Westwood and only hopes that credit is given where it
is due. (Telegraph)
- Jeremy Scott is ever busy. Designing collections for Moschino(and
releasing a capsule only a week later), designing for his own line, and
now he’s dropped his latest line-up for Adidas Original. As always,
there’s a bit of kitsch and a touch of crazy, but the dark colored wares
are the second release for the Fall/Winter season for the pair. Expect
sequins, mesh, leather and some pretty sublime heel options from the
offering. (Hypebeast)
