Beyoncé Keeps Winning With ‘Beyoncé’ Reigning As Top-Selling Album Of 2014.
Who knew Beyoncé’s album would still be slaying nearly a year after she surprised the masses with it last December?
Target was so mad that Queen B quietly uploaded her visual album “Beyonce” straight to iTunes that it refused to sell physical copies in its stores. Even without Target’s support, the project shot right to #1 as it sold more than 1 million copies in the first week.
“Beyoncé” became the best-selling album of 2013 by a female artist almost instantly. More incredible than that, however, is the fact that SoundScan has just reported that it is the top-selling album of 2014 so far. According to Billboard.com, Beyoncé has moved almost 800,000, which is more than any other album by a solo artist released this year has sold.
At 776,000 units sold this year, her closest competition has been Lorde’s “Pure Heroine,” which moved 754,000 copies.
Werk, Bey!
