Fashion Scoop: Tyga Designs L.A. Gear Sneaker Collection, Victor Cruz To Front Kith X One Stroke Campaign, Halle Berry To Revamp Scandale Lingerie Brand.
- Tyga is making quite a few inroads with the fashion industry, the
latest being a collaboration with vintage brand LA Gear. For the label,
Tyga designed sneakers, at least one pair of which are named T-Raww
‘6Ams’ featuring a mesh, breathable side. The designs look like a
follow-up to the artist’s Reebok collection. (Kicks On Fire)

- The British Fashion Council has named their nominees for this year’s
British Fashion Awards! Erdem, Christopher Kane, and J.W. Anderson will
fight it out for the womenswear designer award, while Alexander
McQueen, Stella McCartney and Victoria Beckham will compete for Brand of
the Year. As a surprise to no one, Cara Delevingne and Jourdan Dunn are
amongst the model of the year candidates. (BFC)
- For their capsule collaboration, Kith and Ones Stroke has tapped
injured football player Victor Cruz as the face of their campaign. The
capsule itself will mark the first time that Ones Stroke — a Japanese
brand — will be sold in the United States. Expect prices to range from
$250 to $450 and to be in the Kith shop on Saturday. (WWD)
- On Monday, L’Oreal announced some pretty big news for the
naturalistas out there: they bought out Carol’s Daughter. As with any
big announcement, the reactions were varied: some praised the ability
for the company to grow and others feared that products they’d come to
know and love would change as well as the brand behind it. In recent
interviews, founder Lisa Price asserts that the brand and products will
not change though verbiage and marketing tactics may appeal to a wider
audience and her access to better resources on the business end will
grow. Well here’s to another amazing 21 years! (StyleBlazer)
- Halle Berry is the latest celebrity to turn investor. The actress
just bought into Parisian lingerie label Scandale and will revamp the
80-year-old Parisian brand starting with launching a mass version called
Scandale Paris of the label at Target. Price point will hit in the $7
to &18 range for the new offshoot, launching in stores on Monday.
The actress financially owns half of the company and is responsible for
it’s North American operations. (WWD)
