 Detroit-based rapper Dej Loaf (real name: Deja Trimble) has gained fast and furious notoriety for her flow style. But I, of course, am also interested in her personal style—especially her apparent love for a good winter white. In her breakout single, “Try Me,” the 23-year-old musician raps, “Love wearing all black you should see my closet/Rock that all white when I’m feeling godly,” a claim she backed up by wearing a floor-length white mink coat during her debut on BET’s 106 and Park. At our photoshoot for Dej to sport some of the best winter white options on the market, I noticed she had a mostly male entourage accompanying her to media appearances, and asked her if she ever felt like she needed to act like “one of the guys.” “No, they have to be one of the girls,” the barely five feet tall Dej answered, smirking, while zipping herself into a sample. That kind of resolve is exactly what helped transform Dej Loaf from Chrysler janitor to Sony-Columbia signed artist in less than a year, and gives her the confidence to expertly pull off all these winter white looks.

Ones to Watch: 6 Fashionistas to Look Out For in 2015.

I am most inspired by new designers and new fashionistas that explode onto the scene and there was a healthy helping of the latter this year. A few stylish ladies made their mark in the fashion world over the past twelve months and they will surely go on to do even bigger things in 2015. Not all of them are new to the red carpet, but they certainly made an unforgettable impression in 2014.
Here are some of my picks in no particular order:

Whew! 2014 was quite the year, huh? The world of fashion consistently set the bar higher for years to come while providing tons of inspiration for Fashion Bombshells/Bombers everywhere. Although a considerable amount of designers left their mark on the both the concrete runway and the Fashion Week catwalks, there were a few that particularly stood out more than others.

With 2014 coming to a close, it’s pretty safe to say this year served as the catalyst for milestones for quite a few others with names other than Beyonce.  And because of fashion being such the revolving door that it is, it’s almost too easy to get caught up in the whirlwind.  No longer being the object of a designer’s inspiration and becoming the muse of fashion week past can happen at any second.  But there are a few models who’ve  managed to maintain stickability in this crazy world.  From runway shows to ad campaigns and editorials, these are the models (in no particular order) who outposed the rest to snag a nod in this year’s running of Model of the Year.

I admittedly steered clear of all shopping frenzies this weekend! My patience for the crowds has long vanished and I’ve grown super fond of (in love with) online shopping.

Yes Gawd: Sony Pictures Wanted Idris Elba To Play James Bond & So Do I!

One of the latest leaked e-mails in the Sony Pictures hack has confirmed whispers about a groundbreaking dream gig for Idris Elba.
There’s been buzz about Idris possibly playing James Bond for years, and the demand has been there ever since the idea first made its way around he Internet. His fans will tell that they are here for the idea of him playing 007!
Glossing over the fact that Idris would be the first Black man to play the iconic secret agent, could you imagine how suave he would be as James?! In an e-mail revealed by The Daily Beast, it seems that Sony Pictures chief Amy Pascal was onboard with the idea, writing, “Idris should be the next Bond.”
And if the current Bond Daniel Craig has anything to say, Idris will soon have an opportunity to take over the role. Daniel’s signed on for one more round as James in Spectre, which is due out next September. He told the Daily Beast in 2012, though, that he’s wanted to shake off the gig for years!
“I’ve been trying to get out of this from the very moment I got into it. But they won’t let me go, and I’ve agreed to do a couple more,” he stated. “Let’s see how this one does, because business is business, and if the sh*t goes down, I’ve got a contract that somebody will happily wipe their a*s with.”
There’s no word on whether Sony is still moving ahead with plans to book Idris as the next James, but they’ve got bigger fish to fry right now with the ongoing fallout from the studio leak. That’s why the Sony Pictures has brought professional fixer Judy Smith on board to help them out!
TMZ.com reports that the studio hired the real-life inspiration for Olivia Pope to help guide Amy and studio on its next steps.
