- You know how women spend so much money on lingerie? Well the brand Frigo is hoping that guys are willing to pony up just as much. The brand is hawking $100 underwear and has tapped 50 Cent as a public ambassador. (Four Pins)
- For all you New Yorkers out there, if you’ve been loving Hearst’s free weekly magazine TrendingNY, you’re in luck. The publishing house just announced that for 2015 it will be rolling out an issue the first week of each month from April to December, with increased frequency later in the year. There will also be twice the amount of copies available and a minimum of 52 pages. (WWD)
- Dov Charney has officially been fired from American Apparel and replaced by Paula Schneider. Charney has been suspended from his role for a while now, and had been going through a back and forth with the company since that action. Schneider starts Jan 5th and hails from BCBG Max Azria. - The rumor mill is going full tilt with who will be tapped next to head up Gucci. The weightiest name so far: Hedi Slimane. Having redesign the house of Yves Saint Laurent into Saint Laurent, which outpaced Gucci and the other high fashion brands owned by Kering this past year, Slimane would be an interesting choice for the job. This would no doubt set off a series of designer musical chairs though. A safer choice might be Joseph Altuzarra, a recent acquisition by Kering. (Page Six)
- Talk about out of left field! Emporio Armani has tapped Calvin Harris to front some of their latest ads. The DJ is new to playing a model but he looks like a natural! Maybe this is the first of many ads? (StyleBlazer)
