The 2015 Met Gala
Fashion’s Superbowl is here! Our favorite stylish stars, models, designers, and more are hitting the red carpet for the 2015 Met Gala. The theme celebrates the upcoming exhibit, “China: Through The Looking Glass”, thus we’ll have to see who gets it right.
Let’s see what they wore!
Beyoncé showed off her enviable figure in a custom embellished Givenchy gown that left very little to the imagination.
Rihanna definitely shined bright like a diamond in a yellow embroidered number with one of the longest trains in human history from Guo Pei Couture. Way to bring the drama and match the theme Rih!
Kim Kardashian left very little to the imagination in a long-sleeve white sheer embellished Roberto Cavalli gown with a feather train, while husband Kanye West let her play centerstage in a black tux.
Jennifer Lopez’s assets were also on display in a red embellished Versace number.
Solange Knowles came back from the future for the evening in an impossible to miss Giles frock. Leave it to Solo to blow our minds!
Kerry Washington was the belle of the ball in a flower-embroidered Prada gown. The green pumps weren’t my favorite choice, but the drama of this is exactly what this night is made for.
Kris Jenner skewed edgy in gold chandelier earrings, a red draped Balmain turtleneck gown belted at the waist, and strappy cap-toe pumps. She rarely disappoints and this was no exception. Hot!
Kendall Jenner surely made a few women green with envy in a jade crystal-embellished dress with lace-up sides from Calvin Klein Collection. In a word: fabulous.
A showstopping Philip Treacy hat and one-shoulder H&M gown made up Sarah Jessica Parker’s look. She’s the reigning Met Gala queen and she’s not giving up her crown.
Zoe Kravitz was rocker chic in a sheer silver mesh Balenciaga gown, cinched at the waist with a studded belt. This was killer!
Taraji P. Henson kept it classic in a strapless black and white embellished Balenciaga design. So happy to see her at this event!
Zendaya looked every bit the star in a high-low dress with a dramatic train, covered in the motif. She’s such a cutie!
Lady Gaga was also draped in Balenciaga, serving up punk royalty.
Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade were in attendance, with the Being Mary Jane actress in a long-sleeve form-fitting aubergine number from Zac Posen and the Miami Heat star in a navy Versace tux accented with medallion brooches and a red sash underneath. I would’ve loved a bit of tailoring for the hem of Dwyane’s trousers, but other than that, these two looked perfect!
Recently-engaged Robert Pattinson and FKA Twigs made their mark with the songstress in a colorful sheer panel Chrstopher Kane dress with a thigh-high slit.
Janelle Monae stuck to her signature combination of black and white, adding some flair with a sideswept braid and crop top and pencil skirt pairing from H&M, topped with a dramatic cape. Seems the fast fashion brand is really making its mark for the evening…I’m impressed! Nicholas Kirkwood shoes, a RODO clutch, and jewelry from Jack Vartanian, Carla Amorim, and Le Vian completed Janelle’s ensemble.
Common kept it classic in a black tux. A bit more pizzazz would have been fantastic, but when you look like this, your face is really the conversation piece.
Usher played off his injury with a black cane, looking dapper in a double-breasted suit.
Miguel represented for the gents in a custom red Michael Kors tux with a black band collar shirt. What’s not to like?
Selena Gomez was a vision in a white floral headpiece and white cutout Vera Wang gown. Pretty no?
Alicia Keys layered a menswear-inspired blazer over a matching crop top and tiered tulle skirt from Jean Paul Gaultier. I’m still undecided on this ensemble…
Amal Clooney wore the color of the night in a strapless tiered Maison Martin Margiela Couture gown crafted by John Galliano, while her husband sported a tux with tails. I’m biased: they’re my favorite couple at the moment. Pure class!
So many gorgeous couples in attendance. Cassie and Diddy definitely turned a few heads, with Cassie in a white long-sleeve gown with sheer embellished sides.
Derek Jeter and Hannah Davis were quite the gorgeous couple, with Hannah in a sultry red J. Mendel gown with cutout and pleated detailing and a thigh-baring slit for good measure.
Though I would’ve loved to see Sofia Vergara in something other than a strapless sweetheart gown, her romantic embellished Marchesa gown was still a complete stunner— just like she is!
Naomi Campbell brought Lee Daniels as her date, showing she’s still the Queen Bee of fashion in a textured sheer panel custom Burberry gown with a feather hem.
Former flames and current friends Lisa Bonet and Lenny Kravitz oozed cool on the red carpet, though neither of their ensembles did much for me.
Joan Smalls chose a one-shoulder blue embroidered cutout gown from Roberto Cavalli by Peter Dundas. Hot!
Rita Ora brought a bit of fur to the red carpet in a bow-accented Tom Ford with a hem in the cozy texture.
The gala’s co-chair, Gong Li, chose a lace and velvet Roberto Cavalli number for the occasion. A bit somber for my taste, but she’s absolutely stunning no matter what she wears.
Diane Kruger shimmered and sparkled in a strapless embellished top and trousers from Chanel, given a pop of color with a red heart clutch from the brand and red lips. I live for her style!
Supermodel Liya Kebede also opted for pants in an embellished halter tunic and white trousers from 3.1 Phillip Lim. Another case of some hemming needed, but Liya is as close to perfection as it gets.
Anne Hathaway was gilded in a gold hooded Ralph Lauren gown. Can you say glamour?
Jennifer Lawrence sported a crystal embellished and floral cutout gown from Dior Couture, as you may have imagined.
Anna Wintour is loyal to Chanel and she slipped on a rosette-embroidered confection from the iconic French fashion house’s Couture offerings. I loved this!
Wendi Deng is the other co-chair of the gala and she showed off her slender figure in a navy and gold embellished Oscar de la Renta cutout number.
A black velvet Burberry tux was John Boyega’s choice for the evening. Hot!
Poppy Delevingne was one of the ladies in red in a Marchesa gown in the amorous hue with a rosette-accented bodice. Gorgeous no?
Grace Coddington gave voluminous hair in floral printed satin separates from Michael Kors.
It was all about feathers for Keri Russell in a sultry embellished Altuzarra design with a plunging neckline, nipped-in waist, and thigh-high slit. Hot!
Katie Holmes cut her hair into a bob with blunt bangs and slipped on a floral-embroidered cutout gown from Zac Posen.
Allison Williams served cake topper couture in a red cap-sleeve Giambattista Valli confection. The bigger, the better at the Met Gala, thus this was a winning look for me.
Elizabeth Banks bought into the night’s cutout trend in a long-sleeve turquoise Michael Kors gown with a plunging neckline.
Pinup girl realness was on display, courtesy of Jessica Chastain’s retro-inspired sideswept ‘do and gold sequin Givenchy gown showcasing her bodacious curves. She’s such a pleasure to see on the red carpet.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley looked every bit the supermodel in a sleek, asymmetric shoulder blush gown. She can do no wrong.
Chloe Sevigny is one of the industry’s most eccentric and she lived up to her title in an off-the-shoulder floral gown with a front slit. I liked this!
A bit of dark romance and Victorian couture worked their magic in the ensembles of Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen. My favorite fashionable twins!
Karolina Kurkova flaunted her mile-long stems in a bell-sleeve red satin flare Tommy Hilfiger dress with gold Giuseppe Zanotti snake sandals. This was fun.
Dakota Johnson looked ready for a night out in a strapless Chanel mini dress. This was fit for the after party perhaps, but lacked the drama needed for the main event.
Queen Mother Cher has been owning the red carpet for decades and her sequin Marc Jacobs gown was perfect for the night.
Have you had enough cutouts for the evening? Julianne Moore wore some in a black sculpted bodice gown.
Supermodel Candice Swanepoel chose a nude lace plunge gown with hand-embroidered paillettes from Michael Kors. She’s flawless!
Justin Bieber uplifted a black shirt and trousers with a gold dragon-embroidered jacket from Balmain.
Kate Hudson glistened in a gold custom, stretch-tulle, open-back gown with gold hand-embroidered paillettes from Michael Kors. Pure radiance.
Sienna Miller chose a menswear-inspired red sequin Thakoon suit.
An off-the-shoulder dip-dye gown with a flirty keyhole was on the menu for Olivia Munn. She really is unbelievably gorgeous.
Katy Perry showed off her new short haircut in a strapless graffiti print Moschino gown and matching opera gloves.
Madonna also opted for the iconic Italian fashion house, wearing a black and white graffiti print gown for the evening.
Cara Delevingne brought her trademark edge in a cutout Stella McCartney jumpsuit and faux floral tattoos.
It was all about studs for Miley Cyrus in a long-sleeve cutout turtleneck Alexander Wang gown covered in the embellishment. In case you needed any more motivation to get in the gym this week…she’s never looked better!
