- Menswear designer Kris Van Assche is the latest in a string of
designers to close down operations to focus elsewhere. Assche, who has
high profile fans like Kanye West, has decided to focus his attentions
on Dior Homme, where he’s also the creative director. He temporarily
closed his namesake after a 10-year run. (Vogue UK)
- In case you missed her, Gwen Stefani is back, and this time with
Q&Q SmileSolar, working on a line of watches. Solar powered, the
line is due out in June and features cartoon characters and bright,
spring colors. (The Fashion Spot)
- Online companies have increasingly been going off-line, whether
temporarily or for prolonged stints, and the latest is Glossier. The
company is setting up a short lived, three day pop-up in the
brick-and-mortar location of yet another e-commerce venture: Nasty Gal.
Look out for the beauty products June 5th through the 7th in the Santa
Monica Nasty Gal store. Look out for chances to win products and $250 in
gift cards. (Racked)
- The latest celebrity turned designer: Blake Lively. The actress
debuted a dress designed in concert with Amour Vert on her site Preserve
this week. There’s no telling how far she intends to delve into design
but this is a start. (Teen Vogue)
