Tupac & Biggie Bond in New ‘All Eyez on Me’ Trailer
All eyes are on All Eyez on Me, the upcoming Tupac Shakur biopic set to hit theaters June 16, on what would have been the late icon’s 46th birthday.
Ahead of the film’s premiere, a new trailer finds 2Pac (Demetrius Shipp Jr.) bonding with The Notorious B.I.G. (Jamal Woodard) about their potential impact. “We’ve got a big platform, man,” says ‘Pac. “Use that platform to make change.”
Their subsequent rivalry is also depicted in the trailer. At one point, Shakur makes it clear: “It’s real simple. You’re either with us or against us.” Biggie can also be seen throwing a magazine in frustration over the ‘Pac and Faith Evans photo that spurred rumors of infidelity.
‘Pac’s infamous Quad Studios shooting and his altercation at Mike Tyson’s Bruce Sheldon fight are also depicted in this trailer. But amidst the action and chaos, a reflective Tupac explains his mission as an MC: “I’m reporting from the streets. I’m educating and keeping it real.”
All Eyez on Me stars Kat Graham (“Vampire Diaries”) as longtime friend Jada Pinkett, Lauren Cohan (“Walking Dead”) as manager Leila Steinberg, and Danai Gurira (“Walking Dead”) as ‘Pac’s mother, Afeni Shakur.
2Pac lives on through the film, but his influence shines in other ways too. This week, a ‘Pac-inspired café is opening in New York and later this year, he will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
