Fashion Scoop: Kanye West Is Designing A Ring For North West, Pharrell Williams Takes Over Colette, Katy Perry To Perform At Superbowl.


  • Kanye West is designing a lavish ring for daughter North West.  The one of a kind diamond bauble is supposed to symbolize his love for his own daughter, with her name engraved in the band.  Lorraine Schwartz — who also designed mommy Kim’s ring — will create the piece. (Hollywood Life)

  • After much speculation, Oscar de la Renta has hired former Nina Ricci artistic director Peter Copping as his new creative director.  The designer will “set the design direction across all product categories.”  De la Renta himself will remain as a part of the equation as Coping will report to him and the designers first collection for the brand will bow in February.   • To celebrate his recent fashion products, Pharrell took over Colette yesterday, displaying all of his recent projects.  Included in the offering were his Moynat bags(above), his G-Star Raw zip-up and a limited-edition box of macarons. One can assume that some of the artist’s Adidas products were also there as the two teamed up on some limited edition pairs in the past.  The display will end October 18th. (Style)

  • Chanel is now actively using their instagram.  Having squatted on the @ChanelOfficial account for a while, the brand chose the launch of their new TV spot as the launch of the account. You’ll now be able to see snaps of the festivities with industry luminaries like Karl Lagerfeld, Anna Wintour, Binx Walton and Baz Luhrmann up on the feed. (Instagram)

  • While it was rumored that Rihanna was on next for the Super Bowl halftime performance, it’s now been revealed that Katy Perry is set to perform. While there might be fireworks — see what we did there — we’re not sure it would live pup to what Bad Gall Rih Rih could have done.  We’ll jut have to wait and see.  (Page Six)
