Fashion Scoop: Kendall And Kylie May Collaborate with Topshop, Timberland Ends Collaboration With A.P.C., Kate Spade Saturday To Close All Stores.
- Kendall & Kylie Jenner are building their fashion empire brick
by collaborative brick. After collaborations with MaddenGirl and Pacsun
amongst others, the pair are rumored to be working on a project with
Topshop. Due out as early as this summer, the announcement would follow
that of Beyonce’s activewear line with the brand which is set to debut
this year as well. (Grazia UK)

- With so many fashion events on the calendar, there’s bound to be
conflicts. The latest one of note comes between Karl Lagerfeld and Anna
Wintour(we gasped too!). It seems that Chanel has scheduled their
fashion show in Korea on May 4, the same day as the Met Gala. This means
models like Cara Delevingne and Kendall Jenner who have both walked in
Chanel shows and walked the Met Gala red carpet as well as industry
luminaries will be forced to choose. Chanel maintains that they still
support the event though there was no other day they could schedule
their show. (The Guardian)
- After the remarks that A.P.C. founder Jean Touitou made at the presentation of the brand’s latest collection, Timberland has cut ties with the label. President Stewart Whitney issued a statement saying “Yesterday
we became aware of the offensive remarks made by Jean Touitou during
his A.P.C. Fall Menswear show in Paris. We have chosen to immediately
terminate our involvement with the A.P.C. brand, including the footwear
collaboration we had planned for this fall.” (The Cut)
- This year C. Wonder announced that they were shuttering all of their
stores and then they subsequently filed for bankruptcy. It became
blatant that things were going downhill at that point but to what extent
no one knew. Until now. Chris Burch himself is reportedly losing what
amounts to $70 million in investments and loans related to the company.
And for an idea that most look to as being a rip off and revenge tactic
against former wife Tory Burch, it definitely doesn’t seem worth it. (Fashionista)
- Get used to this phrase when it comes to fashion retail: another one
bites the dust. Today we’ve got a twofer, with Jack Spade and Kate
Spade Saturday both announcing that they will be closing all of their
stores. While Jack Spade will continue on, focusing on wholesale and
e-commerce, Kate Spade Saturday will be rolled into the Kate Spade
brand. (Racked NY)
