Fashion Scoop: Lupita Nyong’o May Be Sharing Her Stylist With Jennifer Aniston, Gigi Hadid Is The New Face Of Maybelline, Tom Ford Says He’s Not Going Back To Gucci.
- Lupita Nyongo’o had an amazing year in style last year, thanks to a
very close partnership with her stylist Micaela Erlanger. Well reports
are now saying that Nyong’o may be soon sharing the stylist with an
unlikely candidate: Jennifer Aniston. Sources speculate that Jennifer is
wanting to move away from safe and get into some real style star
potential. We only hope that Lupita’s options aren’t left to suffer
because of it. (StyleBlazer)

- As another indication that the fashion industry is really taking
menswear seriously, the New York Times has announced that they will now
begin publishing a men’s style dedicated section. You read that right,
section! Running the first Friday of every month, the column will be
overseen by the style editor Stuart Emmrich and some speculate that it
will hold a dedicated watch column. As of now there are no plans to
transition to weekly after any period of time. (Four-Pins)
- Move over Jourdan Dunn, there’s a new face of Maybelline in town.
Gigi Hadid (former reality TV star but like Kendall Jenner, has become a
full fledged model) is now an ambassador for the brand in addition to
contracts for Tom Ford and Guess. It’s likely the contract reads similar
to Kendall Jenner’s which expects her to use her massive social media
following as a part of the deal. (Teen Vogue)
- The New York Fashion Week schedule just got a whee more packed.
After debuting her first collection for the brand independent of an
organized fashion week Marissa Webb has announced that the next Banana
Republic collection will show in primetime at NYFW. It’s very clear that
the new BR will be taking itself very seriously, and with the pieces
we’ve seen, that’s totally fine. (Fashionista)
- The rumor mill in the fashion industry moves very quickly. It was
just this morning that we heard that there was a rumor Tom Ford would be
stepping back into his role at Gucci. It seemed fitting as Frida
Giannini’s tenure at the brand seemed to be an unsuccessful reprisal of
his first stint there. But just as quickly, a spokesperson for Tom Ford
spoke up: not going to happen. Well, it was a nice thought for a second.
