The 23rd Annual Trumpet Awards.

The 23rd Annual Trumpet Awards went down in Atlanta last night with some our favorite actors, actresses, songstresses, and reality TV stars in attendance.
Let’s see what they wore!



Janelle Monae loves her black and white ensembles and she did not stray from the classic combo in a $5,315 Balmain Cape Effect Jacquard Jacket. Hot!

Rocsi Diaz hosted the red carpet for TV One in a Jovani Long Sleeve Jersey Gown. I’ve never seen her look better!

I love feathers and bows, but neither came together well on Real Housewives of Atlanta star Claudia Jordan’s House of Chapple gown. There’s no denying that she’s beautiful, but I had to give this look a hmm…

Chante Moore was gilded in a gold sequin drawstring-waist frock. She’s literally aging backwards!

Co-host Laila Ali was the lady in red, serving full-on glamour in a red draped and embellished gown. Isn’t she stunning?

Monyetta Shaw followed Laila’s lead slipping on a long-sleeve Nicole Bakti design for size. Pretty!

Dolvett Quince helped to lead the night’s festivities along with Laila Ali, sporting an expertly-tailored blue tux. This was definitely swoon-worthy.

Ride Along actress Jasmine Burke could not be missed in a custom-made high-neck number with a sultry cutout detail from Haus of Falenci’ago. Though reminiscent of designs we’ve seen before, there’s no doubt that the piece and Jasmine were stunning. The designer’s name sounds a bit familiar…but he’s dressed Jill Scott and Malinda Williams in the past, thus I am going to keep my eye on him.

A bronze shimmering gown was Naturi Naughton’s choice for the evening.

Annie stars Jamie Foxx and Quvenzhane Wallis posed together, both in incredibly chic suits with Mr. Foxx being one of the night’s honorees. I am always here for them both!

Radio personality and Property Virgins host Egypt Sherrod showed off her curves in a navy lace number. I’d say this was fabulous.

Married to Medicine’s Dr. Jacki kept it simple and chic in a black long-sleeve wrap gown.

Last, but not least was Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star Erica Dixon who continued the night’s love for red in a $330 ABS by Allen Schwartz Satin V Neck Sheath alongside her daughter. I loved this dress, but the gold embellished booties were not the best pairing here — simple gold pumps or ankle-strap sandals would have done the trick.
