Cushnie et Ochs Pre-Fall 2015.
A brand goes nowhere if it does not continue to evolve season after season and for Pre-Fall 2015, Cushnie et Ochs are definitely on the growth track. For the season, the design duo pulled inspiration from Milla Jovovich’s stylish The Fifth Element Character Leeloo with a schoolgirl spin.
The assortment’s delicacy and suavity was executed to perfection, with that signature Cushnie et Ochs power and sexiness still fully intact. As their loyal fanbase grows, so must their responsiveness and awareness and though their trademark steaminess was on the menu, there was so much more offered up.
Nothing says power like a pencil skirt, thus those were served with thigh-high slits and in cable knit that hugged the curves. Pointed-toe strappy pumps and thigh-high suede boots anchored the offerings in modernity and edge.
Peplum was back on high-waist skirts with pleated underlayers and a cutout top with a daring exposed zip back. Also coming back for the season were crop tops with cape shoulders, collars, and short sleeves, among other details.
Structure is a Cushnie et Ochs cornerstone, thus the duo was inspired by menswear with suiting-inspired detailing and offbeat lapels placed on a one-shoulder, knee-length LWD, a long-sleeve number with cutout detailing at the shoulders, expertly-tailored jumpsuits, and pleated front trousers.
This was undoubtedly one of the brand’s most sophisticated collections to date. Though you couldn’t wear all of these designs day-in and day-out, there was a definite authenticity and naturalness to the pieces that demonstrated a bona fide expansion of the twosome’s aesthetic. Naturally, their hot and titillating ensembles aren’t going anywhere, but they are clearly advancing the angle on what they deem sensuous.
Are you feeling Cushnie et Ochs’s Fall collection?
