Pyer Moss “They Have Names” Limited-Edition Tee.
Back in September i posted about a one-off run of tees that designer Kirby Jean-Raymond made for himself and friends that listed the names of 13 unarmed black men killed by police in the last few years. At that point, there was no word on whether the designer would sell the shirt to the public but now the designer has announced a limited-edition run is available for sale to the public with proceeds going to the ACLU.
The original tee has been posted on the site with 250 made available for $70 with all of the proceeds going to the organization which will help to defend people of all backgrounds against injustices in America. With a long silhouette, the tee is made of Japanese Viscose with an Italian Zipper, all done in New York City
Coupled with this, the brand has released a second tee. This design features 11 names of women who have also suffered from injustice.
It’s a powerful message and great to see that a designer is using their platform in this way. Seeing as Raymond said his site crashed four times from the traffic, it seems there is interest but there are still shirts available online! Will you be getting one? Grab yours from the Pyer Moss website.
