Fashion Scoop: John Galliano Is Now In At Margiela, Jennifer Hudson To Play In Sex And The City 3, A$AP Rocky Disses Fashion Brands In New Song.
- After much industry speculation and even denials from brand owners,
John Galliano has now been named the incoming creative director for all
Maison Martin Margiela lines. The former Dior headman’s first creations
for the label will walk during their Artisinal couture show in January.
The announcement(made this morning) was a significant one, marking
Galliano’s full return to the fashion industry and Margiela’s
transformation into a more public facing brand. (Business of Fashion)

- After four years of just telling beauty stories, Into The Gloss is
about to become a part of them in a major way. Glossier is a new
extension from the brand that sees the company creating their own
products. Initially void of color cosmetics, the new extension is
starting with a four-piece range of lotions and balms that range in
price from $12 to $26. (Fashionista)
- Are you ready to see Carrie, Samantha and Big back at it again? Well you’re in luck! Reports are now surfacing that a Sex and the City 3
movie might be in the works. Amongst the actresses you might see
traipsing across the screen looking for labels and love, there’s
Jennifer Hudson. The singer might reprise her role as Louise on the
franchise if a third installment is filmed. (StyleBlazer)
- When she’s not sitting front row at the shows in Paris, North West
is apparently playing with a pair of dolls that may look familiar to
you. In lieu of blonde haired, fair skinned Barbie and Ken, the tot has a
pair of darker hued toys made in the likeness of her parents Kim and
Kanye, created by the Brooklyn-based Celine’s Dolls. And yes, Kanye is
wearing a fur vest and Yeezy’s. (The Hollywood Reporter)
- On his return back to the fold, A$AP Rocky has a few bones to pick
with the fashion industry. In a wakeup call of sorts, the rapper calls
himself the lord of the fashion gig as well as the “Margiela madman.”
And for the brands that caught his fade in the “Multiply” titled rip:
Been Trill and HBA. Been Trill has since responded, making a shirt you
can cop for $50 that’s a parody of the music video. (Complex)
