Fashion Week has been phenomenal! After analyzing runway after runway, one thing is clear. Skirts have advanced to the next level!
In today’s Rock It Or Knock It, we will examine the Fashion Week Spring 2015 trend that has constantly graced the catwalk. The “layered skirt” look seems to be on the rise. In addition to its designer following, street style pros including Shiona Turini rocked the idea long before this month’s fashion frenzy. With that, I want you (the Fashion Bomb readers) to be my fashion conscience – what will you decide?

London-based designer Ostwald Helgason offered a more modern take on the layered skirt trend. In his Fashion Week Spring 2015
runway presentation, the fashion powerhouse paired a crisp white shirt
dress underneath a structured grey vest and skirt combination.
An eccentric, floral-printed shirt dress was the highlight of this ensemble by Peter Som. Think the high-slit green skirt adds the element of surprise? I think not: check out those loafer-inspired sandals! I’m definitely here for this!
It seems this post would not be complete without a DKNY cameo! Flatforms and graphic prints uplifted this sporty runway look while the bright orange / navy combination stunned. The strategically-placed skirt definitely adds that extra bit of flair to an “in your face” outfit.
In a more risky approach, Tome combines both the sultry and the conservative. With the accentuation of minimalist black heels, a sheer, white lace dress is brought up a notch with the help of a simple black pencil skirt. I love this look!
Can’t get enough of Peter Som? Well, with a second appearance in our feature, a black skirt with silver embellishments is draped over a classic white shirt dress. In contrast to his previous look, this frock gives off a more simplistic vibe.
Hmmm, I believe a pretty strong case has been set forth. What do you guys think?
