Show Review: Givenchy Spring 2015.
Riccardo Tisci tends to skew more subtle for Spring, reserving his sportswear inspired abstract and cartoon prints for Fall, and embracing subdued tones for the warmer seasons. His latest collection fell in line with his predilections, working with a color palette of black, white, and brown, with moments of blush pink. But what the showing lacked in color, it made up for with whipstitching, studs, hardened flourishes, and texture.
Grommets needled with laces edged up close fit tops, and continued on thigh high boots, which accessorized each sex infused look.
Studs on fringed leather dresses and long vests seemed ready for battle–The Givenchy Spring 2015 woman is prepared for a stylish war.
A more typically feminine aesthetic crept into the foray by way of stripes on whispy ruffled chiffon, cut with swaths of sheer lace.
A few of my favorite looks: the intricately whipstitched black and white jackets with contrast stitching, striped separates, the updated LBD’s, and an LWD, worn by Cara Delevingne with the show’s ever present peep toe thigh high boots.
I can’t see which pieces house muse Ciara, or brand fans Rihanna and Kim Kardashian will pluck to wear come Spring.
What do you think?
