Mass retailer Urban Outfitters came under fire this week when it was discovered that they were selling a “vintage” Kent State sweatshirt that seemed to feature blood splatter on it. Many immediately said that the piece was alluding to the 1970 Kent State shooting. Since the uncovering, someone has purchased the one-of-a-kind shirt and put it on eBay; meanwhile Urban Outfitters has issued an apology saying that it was simply a misunderstanding. (NY Mag)
