The 89th Annual Academy Awards is underway and Moonlight’s Mahershala Ali has already picked up an award! Couture was flowing on the red carpet and naturally, the fashion was on high.
Let’s kick off the glamorous night’s looks!

An edgy haircut and red halter Armani Privé gown with a cascading train and draped shoulders were on the style agenda for Viola Davis. Ravishing!

Ava DuVernay was regal in a grey lace Ashi Studio Couture stunner. Of course the already-legendary filmmaker would bring the drama.

Taraji P. Henson dropped jaws in a midnight velvet Alberta Ferretti piece with a low-cut neckline and thigh-high slit. Easily one of the night’s best dressed!

Janelle Monae sported a pixie cut to complement her breathtaking Elie Saab Couture embellished design with a sheer, bird-embroidered bodice. Certainly not for the faint of heart, but Janelle is really a pro at this.

Ruth Negga was the lady in red in Valentino Couture and a blue ACLU ribbon. She’s been one of my red carpet faves since she came on the scene!

Naomie Harris opted for a shorter length for the evening, clad in a strapless white Calvin Klein by Appointment sequin dress. Simply extraordinary.

Priyanka Chopra’s strapless, geometric Ralph & Russo Couture gown was the epitome of artful magnificence.

Halle Berry was radiant in a one-shoulder, crystal-adorned Atelier Versace gown and voluminous curls.

A red carpet is nothing without a celeb clad in Zuhair Murad. Chrissy Teigen rose to the challenge in a white long-sleeve gown from the brand with an embellished, sheer bodice and sultry slit. Totally here for this.

Though Octavia Spencer normally opts for Tadashi Shoji, she chose a Marchesa feather beaut for the night. Pretty, no?

Cynthia Erivo was the belle of the ball in a floral embroidered Paolo Sebastian Couture piece. She’s never looked better.

Pharrell Williams took it back a few seasons in a Chanel tux from the iconic French fashion house’s Fall 2009 collection. There’s literally nothing he can’t look good in.

Oscar winner Mahershala Ali was as handsome as it gets in an all-black Zegna Couture duo. So happy for him!

David Oyelowo was dapper in a Dolce & Gabbana tux. He’s always swoon-worthy!

Salma Hayek upped the romance quotient of the evening in a black Alexander McQueen gown.

Riz Ahmed was a blue dream in a Zegna Couture pairing. So hot!

Jessica Biel was gilded in a long-sleeve, gold leaf Kaufmanfranco gown. Celestial vibes for real.

Hailee Steinfeld was ethereal in a halter Ralph & Russo Couture look with a ruffle neckline.

Sofia Carson was white hot in a strapless tiered Monique Lhuillier confection, with red lips for a pop of color. I’ve got my eye on this beauty!

First-time Oscar goer and Moana actress Auli’i Cravalho shimmered and sparkled in a strapless Rubin Singer gown. She’s another one to watch.

Michelle Williams’s black and white Louis Vuitton halter gown was a bit plain, thus her pixie and flawless makeup were the real highlights of her look!
teewhy-hive.blogspot.co.uk
Olivia Culpo shimmered and sparkled in a Marchesa x Stella Artois design. Gorgeous, no?

Karlie Kloss looked every bit the supermodel in a white Stella McCartney, one-shoulder cape gown. Hot!
