LaQuan Smith is known to dress the likes of Hollywood ‘it’ girls like Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Christina Milian, and Kim Kardashian: beautiful women with enviable shapes seemed to be his most steady clientele. Fall 2015 opened the door for every girl to get a piece of LaQuan’s aesthetic. From knee length khaki pencil skirts with matching cropped jackets to wide legged woolen trousers offset by neon tinged coats, the well rounded foray offered something for the fashionista with singular flair.
For day, the LaQuan Smith woman could slip on an effortlessly pleated leatherette skirt and turtleneck with a camel colored topper. When nighttime beckons, a frilly mini cocktail decorated with a neon diamond design would be the call.
High slits skirts, piped with contrast blocks of fabrics could mix and match into any wardrobe. And for those who want a double dose of glam, the embellished top and peplum skirts would be perfect.
I’ll be honest: I was exuberant when I saw the collection because it felt so right. Not only was I making a personal shopping list in my head, but I could also see these pieces looking perfect on absolutely anyone bold enough to rock it. It was both inclusive, yet unique; and it could potentially take you from the office to a glam event in a snap.
