Public School Ready-to-Wear Fall 2015.
Since winning the prestigious CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund prize in 2013, upstart menswear (now including womenswear) brand Public School has been changing the game in terms of what it means to bring school-gal chic to ready-to-wear. Their Fall 2015 RTW collection, in all its denim-y, patchwork, and button-down glory, didn’t skip a beat.
The energy was so high at the presentation and why wouldn’t it be? These women were super-cool, decked in parkas, vests, and kicks; they could literally go anywhere and store anything in their outerwear and fitted caps.
One of my must-haves was this simple geometric jumpsuit that resembled chalk lines on asphalt. They ended up showing a similar style in a long maxi dress as well, accessorized with a oversized scarf for their last look. A part of the Public School mission statement, besides being Made in New York, is to produce garments that will last a lifetime. These two pieces are definitely in the running for what I could see women wearing, 5, 10, even 15 years from now.
What are your thoughts on Public School’s RTW Fall 2015 Collection?
