Show Review: Thakoon Spring 2015.

Thakoon Panichgul has a thing for mixed prints and he honed his gift for blending patterns in the Spring 2015 collection for his eponymous label. He layered on the whimsy by way of fringe feather embellishment, infusing energy and charm into the designs.

Polka-dotted silk pieces were simultaneously beach and boudoir, while leafy vine floral printed looks echoed all things vacation on a flare-hem midi skirt, on-trend culottes, and a cold-shoulder blouse decorated with drawstrings.

As expected, stripes are all over the Spring collections. Panichgul used them here on both leggy mini and knee-length skirts, a long sleeveless vest, and on a strapless tunic in a pinstripe print: the classic pattern has been a favorite of the brand for a few seasons now and he made them exceptional here.

Black and white ensembles closed the show by way of eye-catching zig zags and larger scale polka dots: a paring down in terms of color but the opposite when it came to design. Overall, the offerings were a complete success: a reminder of why “It” girls all over the globe and the industry have been enamored with Thakoon’s collections for years.thakoon-spring-2015-12thakoon-spring-2015-13thakoon-spring-2015-14thakoon-spring-2015-15
