Fashion Scoop: Iggy Azalea Has Tiff With Steve Madden, Naomi Campbell To Host Fashion Show, Rachel Zoe To Launch Maternity Wear.
- Though the first iteration of their collaboration drops next week,
it seems that Iggy Azalea has a bone to pick with Steve Madden. The
artist took to Twitter to air her grievances over a photoshoot that the
shoe-wear brand conducted to pose as the look book for their upcoming
range. They posted the images to a Tumblr account and Azalea found
them, saying “Everything in collaboration is supposed to be mutually approved. But Steve Madden did the most disgusting photo shoot ever!” Madden took the site down and responded by calling it a “lover’s quarrel!” The pair have since released Iggy’s campaign, creatively directed by the artist herself. - Gap is going through hard times and can’t figure out the cause. The
company has seemingly cycled through creative directors and the latest,
Rebekka Bay, is out at the brand. In fact, not only is Bay out– they’ve
totally eliminated the creative director role from the company. Bay
proved her worth at COS prior to Gap, so we’re wondering what the
incoming Gap CEO Art Peck has up his sleeve (or in his pipe). (FastCompany)
- Naomi Campbell isn’t just walking in fashion shows these days, she’s
hosting them too! Next month the stunner will host two shows with
proceeds going to fight Ebola, one in New York and one in London. The
shows — at least the one in London — will feature designs from Alexander
McQueen, Givenchy, Balmain, Stella McCartney amongst others. The London
show is a bit of a free for all, open to anyone who can afford a
ticket. (StyleBlazer)
- Fashion designer Nanette Lepore is the latest to announce she is
leaving Lincoln Center. Though the entirety of New York Fashion week
will pick up stakes and move from the venue in September, Lepore has
gotten a one season jump on things. Though she hasn’t decided whether
she will return to IMG and the group venue in September, this season at
least she’s hosting a “posh girl’s club” sort of presentation in an intimate location downtown by Spring Studios. (Fashionista)
- Rachel Zoe is expanding her namesake fashion label. The stylist
turned designer is launching maternity-wear in March in collaboration
with A Pea in the Pod via Macy’s stores, Destination Maternity, and the A
Pea in the Pod website. Priced from $98 to $248, the line stresses how
important it is to look and feel your best while you’re expecting. (WWD)
