The fashion industry has been quite enamored with Shonda Rhimes’s hit show, Scandal. So much so that last season, Saks Fifth Avenue celebrated the new season with displays inspired by the series. This season, the industry and important players on the Scandal team got a little closer in a collection for The Limited.
A full 78-piece come as a part of the collection, all inspired by the wardrobe of Kerry Washington’s character Olivia Pope. As such, both Washington and Lyn Paolo(Scandal‘s costume designer) took part in the design aspect of the project with Elliot Staples, head of design for The Limited. As expected, the line-up includes signature coats that are recreations of some of the styles Washington donned on the show, in soft tones.
“By creating a line inspired by the show, we are introducing that embodies the elegance and power of the Scandal aesthetic, for real-life gladiators and everyday fashionistas,” said Washington. “The collection is a nod to our devoted fans, to fans of fashion and to women everywhere who are inspired to boldly pursue their passions and look good while doing.”
Prices for the collection start at $49 and top out at $250. Expect them in stores and online on September 23rd. Season 4 of Scandal starts September 25th.
