Show Review: Hervé Léger by Max Azria Spring 2015.

The bandage dress is the foundation of the Hervé Léger aesthetic, but the brand showed much more than the iconic silhouette on their Spring 2015 runway — though the female form was still grasped tightly and accentuated wherever possible.

Black strappy sandals grounded the assortment’s array of flirty knee-length dresses, curve-conscious pencil skirts, and peplum-detailed blouses in electrifying hues and florid prints.

Azria riffed on the bandage dress by adding flouncy skirts and edgy strap detailing for a striking contrast on the shamelessly beguiling frocks. Mesh was then introduced, shooting the frocks over the line of steaminess into vixen territory.herve-leger-spring-2015-8herve-leger-spring-2015-9herve-leger-spring-2015-10herve-leger-spring-2015-11
What we can expect to see on the red carpet are the brand’s embellished, curved-hem dresses in black, icy blue, and blush and a selection of studded beauties in colorblocked blends — some of the softest moments amidst the ferocity of the assortment. Intersecting leather strapped stunners that blatantly referenced bondage also injected that ultimate Hervé Léger va-va-voom.herve-leger-spring-2015-12herve-leger-spring-2015-13herve-leger-spring-2015-14herve-leger-spring-2015-15
The Azrias know the strengths of their brand: making women feel sexy and gorgeous just by slipping on a dress. Though nothing was markedly out of the ordinary or groundbreaking here, there’s a power in being associated with women’s sense of confidence and sexuality in a positive way — Hervé Léger is going to stay in that lane and dominate it until things change, though I suppose that isn’t happening anytime soon.
