Sheer panels juxtaposed with geometric prints and body-clinging fits steeped the assortment in sensuality, while lace-up booties grounded the looks in modernity and edge. An open-knit dress on Grace Bol mimicked the runs one would get in hosiery for a taste of imperfect yet unabashed femininity: one of the lineup’s standout designs.

Nature was called forth with intricate floral and swan patterned frocks and a fish motif embroidered, frothy, elbow-sleeved piece, while flesh was featured with leg-baring flare mini dresses, a girly blush pink bodysuit, a long-sleeve open knit silvery bodycon design, and plunging necklines.

There was an undeniable bridal element that came in the form of a white tulle number with monotone floral embroidery (also skewing red carpet-ready), a tiered ruffle dress topped off by a floor-grazing veil,  and the closing gown which showcased a white embroidered headpiece and a long-sleeve gown with transparent sleeves and décolletage, save for the same aforementioned decoration.

The allure here was a bit more muted than Macdonald’s past collections, but the beauty and charm were even more magnetic than we’ve ever seen from the designer before. Though not incredibly functional or practical for everyday life, these looks will be a hit with the brand’s celebrity fans and their customers who are already accustomed to razzle-dazzle and romance.
