Tome
designers Ryan Lobo and Ramon Martin’s creations are steeped in an
understated and ultra feminine vibe. It would be remiss of me not to
mention the formidable muses for their Spring 2015 collection. Born out
of the influence of two Indian artists, Rukmin Devi, a classical dancer
and Dayanita Singh, a modern photographer, those sartorially inclined
will appreciate the masterful mixture of effervescent fabrics and
silhouettes which can undoubtedly appeal to women of different
shapes. The emphasis on the female form was kept at the forefront where
their signature sense of simplicity was on full display.
Though Spring characteristically calls for quintessential bright hues,
pastels and floral prints, ankle skimming dresses, on-trend crop tops
with high-low skirts all in black made its mark on the catwalk.
Muted gold embroidered jackets, midi skirts and most notably sleek belted trenches all packed a punch of gilded glam.
Lobo and Martin paid homage to their muses with looks that
incorporated sari-inspired draping. Lavender wrap blouses paired with
iridescent culottes and punchy one shoulder dresses lent movement and an
appreciated feminine fluidity to the runway. Edgy lace detailing and
sheer fabrics with floral motifs offered glimpses of luminous skin and
upped the ante on the collection’s sex appeal.
Tome is a brand for stylish women who are confident and unfussy with
their sense of style. All in all, this collection certainly succeeded in
giving loyal customers exactly what has been a main stay for the brand —
polished sophistication.
