When it comes to red carpet glamour, few do it better (and more often) than Zac Posen. His showstopping, expertly-tailored gowns are his signature, but he has decided on a foray into the contemporary market with the more affordable sister line to his eponymous label, ZAC Zac Posen. This season, he was inspired by street style and thus decided to bring a glamorous element to that sidewalk-stomping fashion with the effortless allure of Spring and all the sparkle synonymous with his name.

Posen’s muse for Spring was none other than legendary artist Lauryn Hill, so it was no surprise that he chose Tanzanian stunner Herieth Paul to model the collection’s looks. Color was in full force with a bold palette of bubblegum pink, tangerine, and turquoise. No assortment for the season would be complete without fresh, all-white ensembles, thus those were also introduced.

Separates were a focus with a selection of crop tops on hand, as well as skirts for both work and play, functional trousers in versatile black and a geometric print, and an ombré leather jacket that might satisfy just the street style-savvy woman Posen aimed to dress. These designs were grounded in functionality, while still possessing the brand’s quintessential flirtation and femininity. Elegant handbags served to up the wearable quotient.

The Zac Posen model isn’t broken, thus there was no reason for his longstanding favorites to not come into play by way of red carpet-ready gowns and figure-conscious frocks.
