There’s a reason why BCBG Max Azria has been in business for 25 years: the brand consistently delivers a hearty helping of wearable, on-trend designs that make women the world over feel glamorous. It was all about effortless femininity for the Spring 2015 collection where the models glided down the catwalk in dreamy hues and the season’s expected floral prints, with elegant flashes of skin thrown in the mix and a focus on the waist by way of dainty bow belts.

BCBG has solidified its place in the industry because of their ability to blend functionality and high-fashion: making the latter attainable in a way that many brands fail to. Every single look shown felt accessible, but pretty: no small feat for a glamorous and powerful runway show. Even the beauty and accessories were made for everyday wear — sleek, straight hair, dewy skin, and rosy lips anchored by peep-toe booties and strappy leather sandals perfect for pairing with everything from cocktail dresses to cutoffs.

We’ve seen a real embrace of the thigh this year, with barely-there shorts showing up everywhere from the runway to the red carpet. Azria strayed away from that unabashed show of skin with longer hemlines, on dresses and shorts. The latter were presented in stripes and printed silk: fitting for wear from the office straight to a night out.

A Spring collection would be incomplete without punchy prints and quintessential flower patterns and multicolor stripes called for warmer temperatures and a move away from the dark shades that everyone is so eager to leave behind with Winter. Temperatures in the Big Apple are hovering around 90 degrees, thus the brand’s fans in the front row including Jamie Chung, Hannah Simone, and Shay Mitchell surely had the mind to sport some of the runway’s ensembles in real-time. Sheer insets, keyhole cutouts, and side slits kept the lineup grounded in modern sophistication.bcbg-max-azria-spring-2015-15bcbg-max-azria-spring-2015-12bcbg-max-azria-spring-2015-13bcbg-max-azria-spring-2015-14
So what’s next for BCBG? Only time will tell. In the meantime, we can expect all the finesse, fun, and beauty we’ve come to know and love from the brand over the past two decades.
