While Rihanna makes history on the Billboard 200, her filmography also continues to grow.
Amazon Studios has just purchased U.S. and Canadian distribution rights to Annette, a new music-based drama starring RiRi and actor Adam Driver (Star Wars: The Last Jedi), according to Variety.

Producers are currently looking for a female lead for the picture. Rooney Mara, who was previously attached to the role, left the project due to outside obligations.
Rihanna, previously only rumored to appear in the film, is now a confirmed cast member. However, her modern music may not appear in the film. Instead, the movie is set to include original tracks from Sparks, a band founded in 1971.
Amazon Studios is coming off major success at the Academy Awards, where Manchester by the Sea and The Salesman earned three Oscars.
Rihanna and Driver are set to begin shooting Annette this spring in various international locations, including Los Angeles.
Beyond Annette, RiRi can also be seen in “Bates Motel,” Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, and Ocean’s Eight.
